The ex-manager of a medical marijuana dispensary in San Diego has been convicted of drug crimes and faces up to six years in state prison.

The San Diego Union-Tribune says Jovan Jackson was convicted Tuesday of three counts of illegal possession and sale. Prosecutors said he sold pot for non-medical reasons at now-defunct Answerdam Alternative Care in Kearny Mesa.

Authorities say they obtained the drug during undercover buys last year.

The judge ruled that Jackson couldn’t use the state’s medical marijuana law as a defense.

Jackson will be sentenced next month. Outside court, he told reporters he’ll appeal and feels pity and anger at prosecutors for pursuing criminal charges against medical marijuana defendants.
