An Alabama legislative committee approved a bill Wednesday that would legalize medical marijuana.

However, the bill’s sponsor admits that its quite unlikely that the bill will be approved by both the House and Senate before the end of the current session.

The Michael Phillips Compassionate Care Act calls for the licensing of clinics that could legally sell the drug.

The House Judiciary Committee did make numerous changes to the bill, including raising the cost of potential ID cards.
